dear women,
i'm sorry that john mccain thinks that you're all so gullible that you'll vote for him because he picked a lady to be his VP. as if all those hillary voters were just dumb broads who were only in it to see a woman in the highest public office. as if they don't care about issues, just emotions. you know, i've been saying what a bad decision it would be for him to pick a woman. we'll see if i was right.

kinda makes sense, though, that an old guy like mccain would think like this. this decision is sexist in an old-fashioned sort of way.

the media wants you to think that there are tons of these depressed hillary followers who just aren't going to vote because now they can't vote for a woman. come on, really? i'm sure some of these people exist, but it can't be THAT many. and those people, are they just going to vote for anyone because they share gender? john mccain is saying to you, "here you go, ladies. here i come to throw a woman your way because that's all you care about, not health care or abortion rights. you want to vote for a woman, here you go." as if all women are just governed by their emotions and not their brains. yeah, that used to be the way people thought, mccain. but not anymore. i think you'll see. unless we really ARE that stupid. are we?

this is a cynical decision, and i honestly can't wait for the GOP to fall all over themselves trying to think of ways to support it.

if john mccain keels over in office, is this person really qualified to be the president?

EXACTLY. thank you. (i've been trying to make this point to my boyfriend all morning.)

slap in the face? she's pro-life. so let's get all the non-political feminists to vote in a woman...a woman that wants to erase their right to choose. it feels like a manipulation, like men pitting women against women, and it makes me feel hateful and dirty, like my intelligence has just been raped.

they're betting on gender politics over actual, you know, politics. it's cynical and it had better be exposed for what it is.

i wonder if hillary had won the nomination but not selected obama as his running mate, would mccain have then selected a black man?

hells yes. there was an article in entertainment weekly where they asked both candidates a bunch of silly questions (favorite superheros and american idol people, all that jazz). so the question of favorite tv/movie president comes up. i can't remember who obama picked (i think it was pullman from "independance day.")

mccain's choice? d. haysbert from "24."

i had a good chuckle over that one.
