    no more.
last night i had a dream that gabe came and helped me pack up my apartment into a camper truck, drove me out into a field, threw everything out of the camper and left in a car he had previously parked there.

i called my dad who miraculously had his phone on AND was hunting in the area. he came by and helped me pick up all of my stuff and asked me what i wanted to do. i was so devastated that i asked him to drive me away from there, away from the cities. i just wanted to retire from society.

and about 50 miles out i changed my mind, but felt too stupid to say anything. after all, he'd done so much for me. it would seem ungrateful.

but somehow i knew that, just this once, i had to be a dick. i had to make the best decision for my own happiness. i told him to take me back. i had a lease to fulfill and a couple of productions to do. and i promised people i would be around. but he said no. he said i had given up and i needed to be taken care of and he knew i moved to the cities too soon. i had to fight with him to get him to turn around.

i woke up before an outcome was reached. but i think i probably would have won. and that means i have to be a little more proactive. i've been riding a wave of luck and subconscious defeat. no more.

ehn. can't breathe, allergens will eat me.
isn't the human body supposed to build up immunities? my body must be immunity challenged. because really. if the same allergens have been hitting my receptors for years, shouldn't my body be all like, "eh, we've seen these before. send in the antibodies. done." but no. my immunities sit around like dope-smoking fkheads while the allergens march right through and desecrate me. this has been going on for 18 years! isn't my body supposed to LEARN?

oh yes. that's right. it learns allergy medications. it learns to ignore the shit out of those. NOT. HELPFUL.

i am so sick of this.

accept the shit as a given and what's left over is brilliant.
there's a blog i subscribe to called zen habits. sometimes i already know the lesson they are talking about that day. sometimes its stuff that doesn't apply. but a lot of the time it's stuff that i find useful, or things i need to be reminded of. and this is just related to a topic that has come up a lot for me recently.

if you've been finding yourself irritated with people lately, and you can bring yourself to read something longer than a tweet, you may find some peace in this.

people will disappoint you. it WILL happen. accept it. relinquish control. the glass is already broken. )

*“You see this goblet?” asks Achaan Chaa, the Thai meditation master. “For me this glass is already broken. I enjoy it; I drink out of it. It holds my water admirably, sometimes even reflecting the sun in beautiful patterns. If I should tap it, it has a lovely ring to it. But when I put this glass on the shelf and the wind knocks it over or my elbow brushes it off the table and it falls to the ground and shatters, I say, ‘Of course.’ When I understand that the glass is already broken, every moment with it is precious.”

    words!
Reply to this meme by yelling "Words!" and I will give you five words that remind me of you. Then post them in your LJ and explain what they mean to you. (Please note: If you simply wish to comment on something I've said but don't want to participate in the meme, that is fine. I will only give you five words if you specifically comment with "Words!")

here's what i got from kris!

    1) korea

well, for those not in the know, i killed a korean person once. clubbed him like a baby seal. what are you gounna do? he was stealing my golgi mondu. nobody takes my meat dumplings and lives to tell the tale.

    2) harry potter

just some silly books i wrote once. passed 'em off to my aunt over in england. she needed the cash.

    3) chinchillas

i'm legend in the kitchen. and this is kris' favorite dish of mine.

One tortilla, corn or flour (I prefer corn)
Two tablespoons red or green enchilada sauce
    1/2 cup shredded chinchilla meat
    Two tablespoons refried beans
    Two tablespoons Mexican rice
    Garnish (jalapeños, cheese, tomatoes, onions)

Spread the beans evenly over the tortilla.
Spread rice and meat evenly over beans.
Spoon one tablespoon of sauce over meat.
Garnish to taste and wrap up tortilla.
Spoon remaining sauce on top of tortilla.
Microwave for 10 minutes on medium, rotating every two minutes.

    ENJOY!

    4) theatre

every sunday night, i invite a group of people over to see a living-room performance. sometimes it's shakespeare (i do a mean one-woman lear), sometimes it's my own (kris especially loves my "tales of the cock-n-ballz"), but mostly it's durang. sometimes i get an audience of zero. i perform anyway. rico masturbates.

    5) alex kapranos

i haven't seen him for a while; he's been busy on tour. but sometimes we get together and solve crimes. i'll never forget the time the key to the city went missing and we found it in boris karloff's coffin. alex was the one who had the brilliant deduction that pawlenty was lying to us with that story of hiding it in a tree. after all, squirrels don't climb down trees backwards. got you there, govenor!

    preliminary fringe plans
well. i've gone through the current offerings on the finge site.
    http://www.fringefestival.org/2009/schedule/

i will check up on it later to finalize my picks. generally, i try to make it to 10, including a youth production, a dance performance, and a one-person show (which won't be too hard this year as that's over half of what's offered). here's what i have so far.

oh, first. i need to plug.

BARD FICTION - tedious brief productions.
    http://www.fringefestival.org/2009/show/?id=1038
WHY - because i'm in it. as are a lot of talented folk. and it's going to be one of the best things in the fringe this year.

    okay. on with the list.

some good, some silly. some just plain wrong. )
